November 18, 2008

Phase I
How is it going?
Not seeing students as often as last year.
Teachers forgetting
In 45 minutes can see about 12 students vs. whole class in 20-30 minutes
2nd grade – especially difficult finding books on their own
ISLMA – from Janice – most schools that have flexible scheduling – each class has a fixed time and flexible time all other times.
Larger schools need more time from library aide.

Phase II
1. Collaborative Planning Forms
Remove “planning” from “Unit planning begin (date):”
We can start using the forms.
It will be in electronic format eventually – we need to use it for awhile first.

2. Phase II will be presented to teachers in next month or so.

3. Evaluation Collaborative Form
Looks good. Attach to planning form.

4. Year long planning form.
Good idea.

5. Charlotte Danielson Framework – changes highlighted in red.
- Jerry will bring this back to principals

Reading Aloud**
Important, but not tying up two professionals – debate is who is doing it – classroom teachers need to be reading.
Why are you doing it?
Wrong model – LMS reads books, teachers grade papers
Maximize my adults, maximize time with kids – pull small groups for teaching.

Spend our budget – big chunk by January and the rest by May.
Not sure if it is Title l - Jerry will check.
Per Capita Grant will be about $300.00.

Cindy Darling
1. Who pays for what technology/audio-visual.
Make a list of what audio-visual materials that the LMC has paid for in the past.
What has been replaced and paid for by LMC.
What has been repaired and paid for by LMC.
What small replacement parts have been paid for by LMC.
Get these lists to Cindy.
We will then figure out what tech pays for and what the LMC pays for..

2. Reported to Cindy – Remote Follett not working, Online Destiny not working

3. Three borrowing agreements – Acceptable Use Policy - AUP and borrowing and tech agreement – Where are you on combining these, and making it a given. (i.e. proposal Sue and I sent to Jerry O’Shea and Cindy Darling)? It is in discussion.

To do:
Next meeting -What data should we collect to speak to what is happening in the LMC

By grade level – how many books are checked out – Cynthia Church
